How?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Educate yourself on college student mental health.<\/strong> Learn about the Counseling Center resources: visit our website, visit our Center when you are on campus, call us and ask about our services, invite us to present for your class, residence hall, or student group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Talk openly about mental health.\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Talk about your own efforts to learn new ways to cope. Share ways in which you see others learning about wellness and mental health. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reduce stigma for seeking help.\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Offer compassion and discreet discussions regarding disclosures of emotional concerns, treatment,\u00a0academic exception letters, and OSS accommodation letters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Encourage bystander intervention.\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It is quite likely that if you are noticing another\u2019s distress, they may not yet be receiving help.
