{"id":1711,"date":"2020-07-13T14:52:05","date_gmt":"2020-07-13T18:52:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/student-accounts\/?page_id=1711"},"modified":"2023-02-22T12:33:36","modified_gmt":"2023-02-22T17:33:36","slug":"faqs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/student-accounts\/student-health-insurance\/faqs\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Medical Insurance FAQ&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Who is eligible for student health insurance?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>All full-time undergraduate students enrolled in twelve (12) or more credits<\/li>\n<li>All full-time graduate students enrolled in nine (9) or more credits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How can a student waive the insurance coverage?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>To waive the 性视界传媒 sponsored insurance plan coverage, follow the steps provided below:\n<ul>\n<li>Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.universityhealthplans.com\/ramapo\">www.universityhealthplans.com\/ramapo<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Select the \u201cwaiver form\u201d in the left hand navigation menu<\/li>\n<li>Enter your student ID and date of birth, and click continue\n<ul>\n<li>Answer the pre-waiver form questions and click continue<\/li>\n<li>Enter insurance information and click apply<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please allow two days from the date you successfully completed your waiver for the credit to appear on your account.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>What is the waiver criteria?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>In order to opt-out of the 性视界传媒 sponsored Health Insurance Plan, the student must provide proof of existing insurance coverage and must agree to maintain coverage throughout the entire academic year. The insurance plan must provide coverage in New Jersey<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What happens if the student waives the insurance plan and then loses coverage?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Students may be able to enroll in the policy if they experience a Qualifying Life Event. Students should contact University Health Plans at 833-251-1149 within 31 days of their loss of coverage to verify eligibility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Can a student enroll and use the insurance prior to the waiver deadline?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If a student needs to utilize the insurance prior to the final enrollment file being submitted to Aetna, they may do so by following the instructions provided below:\n<ul>\n<li>Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.universityhealthplans.com\/ramapo\">www.universityhealthplans.com\/Ramapo<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Review the information on the page and then select the \u201cenrollment form\u201d in the left hand side navigation menu<\/li>\n<li>Enter your student ID and date of birth, and click continue<\/li>\n<li>Enter your personal information, and click apply<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How does a student request an insurance card?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Once enrolled, students may get their insurance card by visiting the Aetna website\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.universityhealthplans.com\/ramapo\">http:\/\/www.universityhealthplans.com\/ramapo<\/a>. Click on the \u201cOnline Insurance ID Card\u201d button located toward the right side of the page.\u00a0 Enter your student ID, date of birth, and select \u201cSubmit\u201d.
