Ramapo’s Comprehensive Academic Plan<\/a> (CAP) is a holistic plan to advance teaching, learning, research, scholarship and creative activity, and meet the promise of Boldly Ascending.\u00a0 The College supports faculty in realizing the goals of Boldly Ascending and the CAP through providing various funding opportunities for professional development, scholarship, and programming for students.<\/p>\n The information on this page serves as an informational guide for faculty.\u00a0 It is not intended to be all-encompassing, nor does it replace the information found in the Faculty Handbook or AFT contract.<\/p>\n Faculty Scholarship Funding<\/a><\/p>\n Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n To facilitate the production of Scholarship, as defined in Section 10 of the <\/span>Faculty Handbook<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n Any member of the College\u2019s full-time faculty, appointed at Assistant, Associate, or Full, may apply for grants; however, only teaching faculty may apply for stipends.<\/span><\/p>\n Timeline:<\/strong><\/p>\n Calendar<\/span><\/a> will be posted on the Employee Relations web page by September 1. <\/span><\/p>\n Procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n In September (see <\/span>calendar<\/span><\/a> for specific dates), applicants submit the <\/span>Common Application Form<\/span><\/a> and include all appropriate supporting documentation to their Unit\/Dean.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Faculty Scholarship Funding Procedure<\/a><\/p>\n Contact:<\/strong><\/p>\n Eligibility\/Application:\u00a0 Employee Relations, <\/span>er@ramapo.edu <\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Administration of funds once award is granted: Jennifer Weinkauff, <\/span>jweinkau@ramapo.edu<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Faculty Scholarship Funding and Career Development Funding Awards for 2024-2025<\/a><\/p>\n Faculty Scholarship Fund Awardees – 2022-2023 and 2023-2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n To support professional growth and career development for the improvement of instruction.<\/span><\/p>\n Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n Every five (5) years post tenure, all faculty are required to do a self-assessment which may identify areas for improvement or professional development which may result in the awarding of funds. (See <\/span>Guidelines & Process<\/span><\/a> for more details.)<\/span><\/p>\n Applies to tenured members of the faculty (includes librarians).\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n Timeline:<\/strong><\/p>\n Employee Relations holds an information session in September; applicants apply in October; final decisions are released in March.\u00a0 Please consult this <\/span>calendar <\/span><\/a>for specific dates.<\/span><\/p>\n Procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n Applicants submit the <\/span>Common Application Form<\/span><\/a>, with required documentation via <\/span>Google Drive<\/span><\/a> to the Unit Career Development Committee Chairperson.<\/span><\/p>\n Career Development Guidelines and Process<\/a><\/p>\n Faculty Handbook<\/a><\/p>\n Contact:<\/strong><\/p>\n Eligibility\/Application:\u00a0 Employee Relations, <\/span>er@ramapo.edu<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Utilization\/access of funds once award is granted:\u00a0<\/span>Jennifer Weinkauff,\u00a0<\/span>jweinkau@ramapo.edu<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Career Development Funding and Faculty Scholarship Funding Awards for 2024-2025<\/a><\/p>\n Career Development Fund Awardees – 2022-2023 and 2023-2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n To support co-curricular activities which have a direct link to measurable student learning outcomes.\u00a0 Platinum funding should be used to fund guest speakers or student trips that support the curriculum.<\/span><\/p>\n Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n Full-time, part-time\/adjunct, and lecturer faculty members are eligible to apply.<\/p>\n Timeline:<\/strong><\/p>\n Rolling.<\/p>\n Procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n Faculty members consult their Academic Deans who make funding decisions.<\/span><\/p>\n Contact:<\/strong><\/p>\n Deans for approval and Unit Secretaries\/School Coordinators for accessing the funds.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n To provide students with the opportunity to learn from visiting scholars from diverse backgrounds with expertise related to intercultural\/ multicultural education.<\/span><\/p>\n Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n Full-time, part-time\/adjunct, lecturer faculty members, as well as staff.<\/span><\/p>\n Timeline:<\/strong><\/p>\n Rolling.<\/p>\n Procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n Application<\/a><\/p>\n Applications are reviewed by the Schomburg Committee who approves the scholar and the Provost approves the funding amount.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n Awardees must adhere to the procedures.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n Contact:<\/strong><\/p>\n Eligibility\/Application:\u00a0 Schomburg Committee <\/span>Schomburg@ramapo.edu<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Executing the contract and paying the honorarium:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Jennifer Weinkauff, <\/span>jweinkau@ramapo.edu<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n To motivate and enable the College community to improve teaching and learning with technology, while helping them manage continual change.<\/span><\/p>\n Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n Faculty, librarians, and professional staff who teach. Adjunct professors or temporary staff members may jointly apply with a tenured-track faculty, librarian, or professional staff member.<\/span><\/p>\n Timeline:<\/strong><\/p>\n Fall applications are due by the third Friday in November. Spring applications are due by the first Friday in March. <\/span><\/p>\n Procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n Applicants complete the <\/span>TLTR Application<\/span><\/a> and submit it to the TLTR Committee by emailing <\/span>provost@ramapo.edu<\/span><\/a> prior to the posted deadline.<\/span><\/p>\n Contact:<\/strong><\/p>\n TLTR Committee via the Office of the Provost, <\/span>provost@ramapo.edu.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n To provide resources in Ramapo\u2019s quest for educational excellence by supporting projects related to the Strategic Plan and\/or the Value Statements.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n Foundation Allocation Grants<\/a><\/p>\n Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n All faculty and staff.<\/span><\/p>\n Timeline:<\/strong><\/p>\n The deadline for academic year 2025-2026 is June 13, 2025.\u00a0 <\/span>Grants must be spent by the end of the FY after which they were awarded (i.e., grants awarded in 2025 must be spent by June 30, 2026).<\/span><\/p>\n Procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n Applicants discuss the project with the Dean or unit head in advance of completing the <\/span>Foundation Grant Application.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n
