This is accomplished through a comprehensive learning experience in both advanced accounting and CPA exam preparation in order to attain the professional credential and to excel in today&#8217;s complex and rapidly changing financial reporting environment.\u00a0 In combination with an undergraduate degree, students will attain the 150 credits required to sit for the CPA examination.\u00a0 Classes include Forensic Accounting, Fraud Examination and Advanced Auditing and Advanced Tax Strategy.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"collapsableContent\" tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"collapsableTitle\"><span class=\"fa-stack\"><i class=\"fa fa-circle fa-stack-2x\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-down fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-up fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><\/span>Learning Goals and Outcomes for the Master of Science in Accounting<\/div><div class=\"c_content\">\n<p><b>Goal 1: Accounting Integration:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will be able to apply knowledge of domestic and international accounting principles and standards to financial reporting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Outcome:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0Our graduates will interpret and apply appropriate accounting standards and concepts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Goal 2: Ethics:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will have the capacity to recognize ethical issues encountered in public and private accounting environments and consider resolutions that are legal and ethical with appropriate consideration on the firms\u2019 material stakeholders.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Outcome<\/strong>:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0Our graduates will accurately identify ethical deficiencies in the accounting process and recommend effective and viable solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Goal 3: Business Analytics and Critical Thinking:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will be proficient in the use of statistical and analytical tools to analyze complex accounting problems and will be able to make practical and reliable decisions as appropriate in order to resolve problems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Outcome:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Each student will support conclusions using appropriate research and authoritative pronouncements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Goal 4: Communication:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will be effective oral and written communicators.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Outcome 1:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0Students will deliver an organized and persuasive oral presentation that demonstrates focus, time management, and effective visuals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Outcome 2:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Students will demonstrate effective written communication skills in written assignments that are well-organized with appropriate sentence\/paragraph structure, grammar and referencing, and suitable word choice and tone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Outcome 3<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>:<\/strong> Each student will possess the ability to work in a team as either a leader or group participant and to collaborate effectively in the group dynamic.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"collapsableContent\" tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"collapsableTitle\"><span class=\"fa-stack\"><i class=\"fa fa-circle fa-stack-2x\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-down fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-up fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><\/span>Requirements of the Program <\/div><div class=\"c_content\">\n<ol>\n<li>The degree program consists of 10 courses (3 credits each) for a total of 30 credits from the following courses.<\/li>\n<li>To remain in good academic standing, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 higher.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"courseTable\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"majorTableHeading\">Subject &amp;
